Northlake BackPack Buddies is a program sponsored by Northlake PTO.
This successful program has been running in certain parts of the United States for over twelve years. Our Northlake Caring Community simply wants to help where food security may be needed.
About the program: The purpose of Backpack Buddies is to provide nourishment on weekends and holidays when school is not in session and students do not have access to the free/reduced lunch program.
How it works: Every Friday morning, each child who participates will drop off his or her backpack in the school library. The backpack must be clearly marked with child’s name inside or out. The backpack will then be filled with child-friendly food for the weekend. The backpacks will remain in the library until the child picks up their backpack before the end of the day.
Confidentiality: The enrollment form and all information regarding the recipients of this program will be kept confidential. If you have any questions about the confidentiality of the program, please contact the school.
If you feel your child would benefit from the Backpack Buddies Program, please complete the enrollment form and turn it into the school office.
